Hotel Montíboli closes for refurbishment
Monday, October 5th, 2009The Hotel Montíboli, one of the most established luxury hotels Costa Blanca, which first opened its door in the 1960´s, will close on the 16th October for 6 months to carry out one of the most important refurbishment programmes in its history.
Amongst the improvements, the chain will incorporate a new spa which will crown one of its terraces, some of the most classic rooms will change and the restaurant will be reformed, even the gardens will be re-landscaped according to explanations given by Jose Maria Caballé, president of the Servigroup chain to which the hotel belongs.
Situated overlooking a cliff top in the suburb of Villajoyosa from which the hotel took its name, the Montiboli has 85 rooms, of which 47 are doubles, 9 junior suites, 2 suites and 4 bungalow next to some Arabic style gardens.
The decision to close has been taken in order to improve what we offer and compete in the market, that of those with high disposable income, affected by the economic crisis. Currently tourist that choose 5 star hotels, are limited, “ from here we need to be the most competitive possible” stressed José María Caballé.
The Hotel Montiboli, signature hotel of the Servigroup hotel chain, leader in the Valencian Region and with head office in Benidorm, received this summer the award “Top 10 Playa” (Top 10 beach), which included the 10 best resort luxury hotels in the country..
